Weekly Skin Treat ~ Avocado Honey Mask

Applying a mask is a great opportunity to give your skin a good dose of antioxidants, vitamins, and important essential fatty acids. This mask formula is a delightful treat for the skin, especially if do not follow or have a proper skin care regimen. This would be a great low maintenance start.

Why Avocados? They are extremely rich in vitamins, lecithin, proteins, and essential fatty acids, all of which will leave your skin smooth & soft.

1/2 avocado, peeled & pitted
1tbsp plain yogurt
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda

1tbsp honey (optional)

1 tbsp unrefined coconut oil (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a blender and process for 30 seconds. Use immediately on clean, bare skin. Leave on for 10 minutes then rinse with luke warm water. (For extra moisture choose either honey or coconut oil to add to the mix. Both are emollients as well as anti-bacterial, however, honey does have the added benefit of being an anti-inflammatory making it safe for even the most sensitive of skin types.)

Tip: For full benefit of this mask I recommend you apply & rinse while in a warm shower. This mask can be done twice a week.

Use the other half of avocado to add to a  salad with fresh chopped veggies, arugula + cherry tomatoes. Yummm!
